It's a Nerine
A different nerine. This is Nerine filifolia, with fine, almost evergreen leaves below the flowers. It's about half the height of the common garden Nerine bowdenii which has wide, flat, strap like leaves that appear after flowering and likes a hot dry spot in the garden in full sunshine. I comes from a summer rainfall area of South Africa. Mine, raised from seed sown three years ago, live in a pot in the greenhouse. It should be hardy outside here so I will give it a try although the leaves will be vulnerable to slugs which will weaken the plants. We'll see.
A quiet day at home with Ruth mostly. Bulb repotting continues. We had a visit from Lovetrees and W this afternoon, a mini blipmeet, they came to borrow a rolling pin as their caravan lacks one. After tea I took Meg up to Rhydyronen. John joined us on a walk up the hill but we didn't see the donkeys today.
