Kyrenia harbour

Back blip.

This is the view over the beautiful harbour in Kyrenia, N. Cyprus. The harbour walls are lined with cafes and restaurants, and the busy harbour itself with boats all offering boat trips and swimming.

The harbour walls date from around the 12th century, and are part of the fortifications of the town including the castle. More details on another blip.

NB the Turkish name for Kyrenia is Girne, so strictly-speaking I should call the place by that name, as it's in the Turkish part of the island, but I think most people will recognise Kyrenia (the Greek version of the name) rather than Girne. Apologies to any Turkish people reading this!
