Afternoon tea…

But not as we know it, Captain! The rites of celebration and departure to Uni continued today with an epic champagne afternoon tea in the Georgian Tearoom at The Dome - a grand building and a grand tea. This time Catriona was there with her family - my #2 son was our host and we just rocked up (slightly late - sorry again!) and settled to an afternoon of indulgence. Catriona and I even took photos in the loo - it was opulent in the extreme.

Afterwards we emerged into the rain with which we’d been threatened and watched as Catriona and her parents sprinted across the road like a bunch of teenagers to catch their bus. Then I ordered a taxi - I love the way you can track its arrival - and we were back at the house and able to collapse with mugs of peppermint tea…

Later the sun came out and we gave ourselves a two mile walk to Sainsbury’s and back because I wanted some blueberries for breakfast. And then we watched The Thursday Murder Club and I loved it. I’m a great fan of the books …

Some day I’ll have the energy to tell you about my eye etc - but no’ the noo!
