2025 Wednesday — Appliance Shopping

We are days away from the 10 year anniversary of purchasing all of our kitchen appliances. That seems impossible. So when our KitchenAid microwave recently quit functioning, I knew that the lifespan of that appliance had concluded. The read out on the screen said a new “relay” was needed.

We phoned several appliance stores and each one says, “Replace it! It cost more to fix than to replace.” That’s stunning. The entire “old” microwave looks brand new and it’s going to be dumped into the landfill.

We have found a new microwave that will be
a good replacement (we think). It will be delivered and installed this coming Tuesday. So stay tuned for the next episode of our microwave saga.
