High Seas

High winds and high seas. Down at the lighthouse on the end of the promontory, exposed to the full force of the Atlantic, huge waves formed offshore, crashing onto the rocks with towering splashes. It was exhilarating and life affirming. I could do with a dose of this more often.

My first attempts at photography were hampered by buffeting wind and hammering rain. Sheltering beside a campervan helped somewhat, but rain spots on the lens ruined a few shots. Later on, after the rain eased, weak sunshine strained to break through, leaving the wind and surf to do its thing.
