Nuts
Another glorious sunny start to the day. I was out at around 7 a.m. It was very pleasant for walking.
I was scrunching through some fallen leaves on the path and heard some more substantial crunching underfoot. I discovered lots of hazel nuts on the ground. I found these (relatively) unscathed ones and lobbed them on a fence post to photograph them. They are turning nicely brown now :-)
Despite being the last day of meteorological summer, there was a distinct autumnal feel around - I have added a collage in extras, showing hawthorn berries, rose hips, sycamore keys and red bramble leaves.
