Rottest Island

Today we took the ferry from Perth to Rottnest Island. What a fabulous place. There  were many highlights, however, I have chosen a photo of a Quokka (essentially a miniature kangaroo) with a baby in its pouch. These roam freely amongst the tourists and are good subjects for a photo. A Dutch explorer named the island Rottnest (rats nest) in the 1600's as he thought that he was seeing huge rats with two heads (Mother and baby).
