Late summer babies

One of the moorhens on the pond has produced three little chicks. a bit late in the year, but it doesn’t seem to have been a very good year for the moorhens and coots. There were a couple of cootlings early in the year who didn’t seem to survive very long and we’ve seen nothing since. Let’s hope these moorhens have better luck.

Before that we went to Stockbridge Market where I stocked up on Discovery apples and local plums. (Extra). They are so much nicer than the supermarket offerings.
