Calm Before the Downpour!
A lovely morning so three of us were going to the Northam Burrows Country Park for some fresh air and a stroll. A fourth member joined us she had had a message to say her Dad had died suddenly and needed a bit of moral support as her family are up country.
It was a sunny morning, and quite mild, and we enjoyed a cup of coffee at the cafe before taking stroll at the edge of the Royal North Devon Golf Club course. It was a bit bit breezy but the sun was shining, and felt quite mild. High tide had passed and there were people walking their dogs along the beach, someone even flying a kite.
We strolled back to the cafe for a bacon sandwich and more coffee before heading back to the car. A quick stop at the Lifeguard station, then looking over towards Hartland Point spotted a very dark looking cloud and sign of rain, so back to the car to head home. Just got into Appledore and the heavens opened with torrential rain, but once we were through Northam and onto the A39 we were clear for a dry journey home.
