Middle Meadow Walk
It’s been an intensive week of demolishing any trace of the Fringe in this University area although I can’t vouch for George Square Gardens, having avoided walking there. The rush has been in order for the Student Freshers’ week which begins tomorrow, I believe, to have some semblance of academic rectitude for the parents delivering their offspring. There is a lot of activity both from the new students and the returning students bearing full to bursting cardboard boxes into their new abodes.
Suddenly the Festival visitors are thin on the ground in this part of town to be replaced by crowds of young people speaking in tongues and making me feel my age.
I had a civilised Sunday coffee with one Merry Widow, the other one being away in a drama jolly to Stratford. We mange to blether our way through two and a half hours before parting ways.
To avoid settling in with my book and being a lazy lump after lunch I walked through the Meadows to inspect a new shop selling wool and then popped in to see Daughter#2 and my s-in-l. I was lucky to catch them between their visits to the communal dump!
I missed a smirr of rain which came to nothing on the way home and having not taken a single photo all day took this one of Middle Meadow Walk. You can see the empty cycle lane with not one stravaiging pedestrian oblivious to the signage using it. That is quite unusual.
