Musing of a Lady

Changing Colours

Autumn seems to be round the corner. The leaves are changing as you can see on one of the Prunus × Yedoensis that's outside my front door. The days are getting shorter and the weather is cooler.

Its the end of an era for Little Man and myself. He is turning four at the end of this week, and is due to start primary school tomorrow. The class he's going into is the equivalent to Reception in the UK and kindergarten in the US. Children don't have to go to school until they turn five here, but most children attend a play group for a few mornings a week up until they turn four. Then they'll start attending group one, and often its just for the mornings. It gives them the chance to socialise and learn, in a play based environment.

Today, we had church and we managed to get out the door in time for our lift. We took my dad's guitar with us as a lady from church is going to be visiting my parents and is taking his guitar with her.

The service was back to front, with the sermon first, then the songs. I was in the toddler room with Little Man and a number of other children. It was the quietest its been in there for a while. Its also the last time I'll be doing that, as Little Man will be going to the next group up from next Sunday.

We came home and spent the afternoon relaxing. Little Man watched his programs and I watched the Formula One Dutch Grand Prix. It was a gripping race with some unexpected situations. I won't say more because I don't want to spoil the race for those who are yet to watch the replay.
