Gundog training
Keely had a little walk after I'd walked Dina in the woods.
This afternoon Keely was booked into scent detection, hard work for her nose that will tire her out.
I then went onto gundog training with Dina, it was windy and plenty of leaves blowing around, even the trainer said it was the worst conditions for Dina to concentrate.
She surprised us all, we were playing catch-up on last week's training (getting our dogs to look at us with a whistle command) Dina did quite well. Then we went onto the "go back" command to collect a dummy with another dummy as a decoy. I was absolutely surprised how Dina managed to retrieve the dummy and ignore most of the leaves. To everyone's delight on one occasion she retrieved the dummy along with a feather and a leaf.
My friend, who I walk in Cardinham woods with, arrived as we were finishing and she couldn't believe her eyes when Dina decided to go for the dummy rather than chase a leaf that flew across in front of her.
Gosh I love my dogs
