The Large and the Not So Large
We were up early, a theme of this hutmeet because the mattresses were so awful, it being a private hostel as opposed to our usual mountaineering club huts. In fact they were so awful that they were obviously ridged where the springs were, meaning that I woke up with pains at the top of my thighs where they'd been digging in! So. Two reasons why I will not be stopping here again, rubbish mattresses and not a good area for climbing.
We were on our way home by 8am, Sally the driver needed to get back, Fi had been away too long and I just wanted to get home. Sally dropped me off and, while she and Fi unloaded my stuff, I ran upstairs and brought my excess gear box down. Fi wanted carabiners to make two Alpine draws, and Sally just wanted any carabiners I had surplus to requirements. Both were satisfied!
I was more or less straight out to Tesco and then the allotment where, amongst other pickings, I brought home a rather too big courgette and the smallest pumpkin. I can't see that it's going to grow too much more now. I weeded the allotment for an hour, which was enough!
