Bandstand Concert in Queens Park

The bandstand concerts are drawing to a close as summer comes to an end. The flowers in the park are resurgent, I think the gardeners have done some autumn planting.

A young lady was sleeping on a bench close to us. As it was windy, twigs were falling off the trees. A couple of elderly chaps sitting on the bench opposite the young lady looked a little the worse for wear. One of them picked up a large stick and threw it at her twice. I suspected she might be homeless.

As we were leaving, I challenged him about his behaviour. At first he tried to deny it and then he became incoherent.

I wish there'd been a policeman around.
