Head in the clouds
Having checked the weather forecast for home and compared it to where we are currently staying, I swiftly made our landlord an offer for an extra night’s stay, which he accepted.
It was clearly a good move as the day commenced with glorious sunshine, so we headed back down to the beach at Trimingham and spent a glorious couple of hours playing by the sea. M’boy snapped me as I pottered on the beach. The last beach trip of our stay culminated in a brief visit from a seal which nonchalantly made its way along quite close to the shoreline before disappearing over a breaker board.
With the cloud cover increasing and the temperature cooling, we packed up our gear, brushed the sand from our toes and headed to Felbrigg Hall for a wander around a very fine estate.
Naturally we squeezed in tea and cake before a stroll around the beautiful walled garden and a wander down to a curious church in the middle of a field, where The Youngest took to the pulpit to deliver a sermon to her flock (extra).
It was back to the cottage to get some packing done thereafter, where our lodgings offered up one last gift as a lone deer crossed the field and disappeared into the copse.
We have had a fantastic few days and I am really going to miss this place.
