Being Hip To The Present Givers

We only popped into town again quickly today and my brother encouraged me to have a go at a couple of new photographic techniques (after he'd set up my camera first as I don't really have a clue) for a street shot - shooting from the hip (which can produce rather odd angles) and using zone focusing, neither of which I have done before.
I'd seen these two mums holding what is presumably their daughters' hands with one hand and a present each in the other possibly on their way to a birthday party and thought it was too good an opportunity to miss - I just liked the scene and the pops of pink colour. I'm not sure it entirely works but I enjoyed trying something new.
