Luggage
I'm test-driving a new wheelie-bag-cum-back-pack and the world is so different from the perspective of different luggage! My bus from Oxford to London didn't use the snarl-up 90-minutes I'd allowed for, so rather than jump on a bus from Marylebone I had time to walk the two miles to St Pancras (the inevitable photo). I wouldn't have walked it with a backpack. And there are so many drop-kerbs I've never noticed. And so many steps at St Pancras and absolutely everywhere in the Paris metro where I repeatedly had to haul the case lopsidedly upwards and downwards. Memo to self - it's definitely worth the hassle of liberating the backpack straps at stations.
It was easy to find my hotel in Nation, a bit of the city I've been through countless times underground, as so many metro and RER lines go through there, but which I hadn't really looked at above ground until this evening's stroll. The sunset was a total surprise.
