Petrocosmea flaccida

I have several different petrocosmea plants that live on one of the lower shelves in my porch.   They get very little attention and indeed, seem to thrive on neglect.   Three of them are in flower now, this one, in the darkest shade at the back, I had not noticed until today.   They are related to African Violets and can be propagated in the same way, by leaf cuttings.   This one comes from Sichuan in Yunnan province, China.

Another welcome restful day.  Some bulb repotting, several small dishes made from clay rolled into thin slabs and several walks.   This afternoon Ruth and I went to the riverbank and collected sedge and reeds for her natural weaving projects, lovely in the sunshine, we didn't hurry home.  After tea, Lovetrees came round and we took Meg to Rhydyronen for a walk up the lane.   J fed the donkeys ... and Meg might have had a chunk of carrot too :-)    A day of gentle pastimes.
