Hummingbird Hawkmoth, Macroglossum stallatarum which I've never spotted before.
They have about a two inch wingspan and you can see the orange underwing as it flaps at sixty per minute which also explains the blurred wings.
I understand that they come from Southern Europe and North Africa but obviously reach up here.
Performance getting it blipped
Borrow iPhone take some pics borrow the I cloud paired iPad and edit the pics then photo the screen with my iPad then edit then collage them on PS which wouldn't save to photos so did a screen grab then foreword to my blip album finally to blip.
So no monomonday today.
