Rethymno

We were late risers this morning and after checking in with the owner headed out to the harbour area for a late breakfast and coffee. It felt very hot so we enjoyed relaxing over our omelettes before exploring the area further.

We had visited here many years ago when the children were young so knew what to expect but of course it has expanded with more eateries around. We walked around the outside of the large fort and then back into the old town.

After this we picked up some provisions from a supermarket and bakery and returned to our accommodation to relax out of the sun.

In the late afternoon we walked around to the beach area before heading back into the old town. A delightful Italian restaurant amongst the narrow back streets attracted us and we had a lovely meal.

A lovely day and we are slowly adjusting to the heat.
