Fungus Revisted

On the 10th August I blipped a fungus in a fold of a beech tree trunk - with a view to revisit it at a later date.

Well today was the day for the second visit to check on progress!

Slightly disappointed to see that it had not grown much - but pleased to see lots of red spores!

I have tried to look down on it to get a different view - not easy as it is at head height - and I also needed to add some artificial light in the dark woods! I need an extra pair of hands.

This is a three shot focus stack - each shot focussed on a different lobe.

Off out later this morning for family gathering in York..Mrs madwill and her sister and their (surviving) cousins are all meeting up for coffee/lunch and presumably a lot of nattering…no idea what time we will get back.

Mrs madwill’s car is in for MOT/service - so we are having to go in the ‘big’ car..which Mrs madwill does not like driving - should be fun.

Added an extra of a red kite - in the same tree as before - looking splendid in the sunshine
