Ullswater in September sunshine

I posted an iPhone photo of the same scene but have replaced it with this one from the DSLR and a bit of Lightroom editing.

It was great to see the sunshine as it’s rain this evening and more tomorrow and the next day.  The Lake is already full but at least the waterfalls will look good.

Tuesday should have been a good day for travel theoretically.  One option today was M6 to RSPB Leighton Moss but a big section of the M6 around Lancaster was closed for emergency resurfacing after an oil spill accident.

So we went for our more usual choice A65 through the Yorkshire Dales- starting M60, M66, M65 then Barrowford Booths supermarket shopping.

A65 quiet until Clapham - we should have wondered what all the Police cars were about.  All traffic (North and South) diverted through the village with enormous lorries over the single track bridge and tight corners= Chaos. Accident glimpsed it looked bad on a very straight section, high speed likely to be involved.

Google then informed us that we couldn’t get to Ullswater via the Kirkstone Pass due to a road closure in Patterdale.  luckily we managed to get confirmation that this was INCORRECT yes Google was wrong,
