More wittering!

Thanks for yesterday's thumbs up for more rambling!  There's always more available :-)
Today's photo was from a walk in the woods and by the river (retaining the autumnal light today!) and then I was supposed to drive up the M6 (as I'm seeing my Dad up here tomorrow) but there was a closure so I decided to wait a few hours and shift my jobs round a bit.  That turned out not to work in my favour, as when I eventually reached the motorway closure not only was it still in place, with associated backlog.. but the signs for diversion were hard to understand, so I was left with the mixture of what Apple Maps, Google Maps and Waze thought I should do.. which were all (unhelpfully) different.  I ended up on a tiny village street with multiple articulated lorries trying to make unfeasible turns and there was a lot of being at a standstill.. sigh.  A journey that should have been 2 hours was about 3 hours 10 mins and both Leo and I were very pleased to finally arrive at our destination!  Still, it could have been worse :-)  
I was in time for my call with Ben, which was good and I took Leo for a walk to shake off the car gremlins.  Then we (well, me.. Leo chased a ball a bit to assist) did a bit of weeding (how fast do dandelions grow??!) and removed an intrepid woodlouse from behind the perspex cooker splash back.. how glamorous my life is!  I did a bit of emailing and work stuff but now thinking about a frozen lasagne and some TV before an early night.. the glamour continues :-)
