Unbearable noise

The fire alarm just went off after being on for close to two hours.  I sat in the stairwell for quite a while, since the alarm can't be heard in there, but there's neither food nor a bathroom there.  Poor Sylvie went under the bed as soon as it started, not knowing that the bathroom is the quietest place in the apartment.  I'm hoping my hearing isn't going to be affected.  Our fire alarm is a combination klaxon and shrill scream and it's unbearable.

Still feeling really weak and shaky after dialysis.  Tomorrow will be a busy day - OT at 10:30 and a trip to the dentist in the afternoon.  I'll also have to stop by the dialysis clinic again so I can pick up a prescription that was promised for today but didn't appear.
