Llannerch Bridge (The remains of)
TUESDAY
A bright morning, so I headed out for a run down to the remains of Llannerch Bridge which originally spanned the River Clwyd. The way back to the village is a 98m uphill climb, and my time was a sedate 34:09 for the 5.2 km.
This afternoon, it was off to the bowling green for a home match against Eirias Park. Following yesterday's rain, the green was still wet in places, and I struggled to judge the distance at first. I started poorly, trailing 1-9 to my opponent, George. Once I gained the jack, I lengthened the marks and played the green to my advantage and ended up winning 21-11.
The team did well overall, with eight winners out of ten, plus an additional 2 points for the aggregate. With only two games left in the Tuesday afternoon league season, we have managed to hold onto our spot at the top of the division.
Our main rivals, Abergele, were playing away and they came away with seven points. They had some very close matches and could easily have walked away with the full twelve.
Abergele have a match in hand and are currently 11 points behind us. We face them in our final match of the season in two weeks!
