Stitch Counting

Now on my fourth Sophie scarf, this one is in a coral  shade and is for Adele, l’ve already made her one in apple green. I changed the pattern to make the scarves exactly as l want them. It’s made most people who know me laugh because l change most things: recipes, sewing and now knitting. I’m not a knitter but l have rewritten the whole pattern. Just need to up my knitting skills now.

Went out today to get some more wool and had a lovely surprise when l bumped into a former teaching colleague. When she first qualified l was her mentor in her first teaching role. We worked in parallel classes for a few years and had a really good partnership, we had each other’s back. 
After l retired she went to another school and became deputy headteacher. She was a good teacher. I was surprised when l saw her today and she wasn’t in school until she told me she retired in July as she was now 60! I still see her as the confident young woman l first met all those years ago. Mind you she looked pretty confident today.
