Inspirations

They were commissioned by the RSE as part of the work on academics in conflict situations. I was in the RSE this afternoon for a cross Scotland meeting following up on a report on Scottish higher education's support for academics in conflict settings, and these paintings were on display in the room we were in. Very striking indeed.

Earlier I was in the office, amongst other things to have a full draft review of a PGR student's thesis, which is always a good moment.

Two autumnal firsts: it was dark when we first got up (it was early) and weather determined my transport choices (it rained pretty much all day, although not always heavily).
