A busy'ish but enjoyable day
Youngest had a checkup at the Dentist first thing, closely followed by Father In Law needing to have an eye lasered in Stockport. Task No.1 went well enough with her getting a clean bill of dental health, and Task No.2 similarly so, his treatment being carried out swiftly and without issue. The eye clinic is situated next to Stockport Rail Station and the multi-storey car park has an almost birds eye view of the platforms. Being regular as clockwork between London & Manchester, it was no surprise to find two Avanti Pendolinos posing for a picture so that's my main blip.
Back home for dinner, I rang a colleague who has been on sick leave for over 6 weeks now waiting for his 2nd hip replacement operation. He was hoping to keep working until his Op but lets just say that there appears to be little hurry from his hospital, and so he has had to take time off prematurely, worst luck :-/ After 5 minutes of natter and realising that the hour of heavy rain looked to have passed over, I asked if I could pop over in person and a pop-pop-bang-pop later, little Biscuit had whisked its rider all the way up the motorway to Chorley for a good catch up.
Riding home, we took the A6 instead of the motorway and found Worsley Delph en-route, the spot where the (relatively) modern canal age began (extra). Despite being adjacent to a busy road at 5pm, sitting on its steps was quite peaceful for 20 minutes of so whilst soaking up the scene, but then that's canals for you. The centre of Manchester was scythed through in short order and my kitchen reached to knock up a mushroom omelette for tea.
