Wood Norton Hall and the BBC
Today a hotel (where we stayed tonight) with quite a history we just learned while being there. Once the home of the Duke of Orleans, and later a private school, it was acquired by the BBC shortly before WWII for use as an emergency broadcasting centre, in case BBC London would have needed to evacuate. In the late 1960s or early 1970s a nuclear bunker was added (and no, we didn‘t see the bunker).
