Stomp around Leicester for the LOROS Hospice

Today was our charity day to take part in the Stomp around Leicester event in aid of our local LOROS Hospice. This year was their 40th anniversary so to celebrate and help raise funds, 40 locally designed elephants were placed around Leicester. In support of this a group of colleagues and I all chose routes to follow to check the elephants for damage and give them a clean if needed, along with spreading the word about what these beautiful statues are for. We all had such a great time and thankfully the 12 elephants on our route were undamaged and nice and clean (thanks to the heavy downpours we had along the way lol). It was so lovely to be able to help such a worthy cause as LOROS are so supportive for those that are terminally ill and their families, and I know that as they have been struggling recently and have had to cut back on the number of staff along with some supportive clinics, which is so sad to hear. I really hope that the money raised from people taking part in this event and the auction of the elephants will help to provide the funds needed to keep this charity going for as long as possible.
