Not Orkney (Day 3773)

I had a reasonably comfortable night in the very warm room at the patient hotel, then managed to negotiate the route to where my appointment was at 8am. It would have been helpful if the letter had given the correct details of where I was to go, but perhaps it will be changed for future patients.
I was quite surprised to see another tradesman I know in the waiting room and it was good to have someone to blether to before we were taken to the ward. I was second to be dealt with and although the epidural was pretty uncomfortable I have definitely experienced worse things. After the injection was done I had to lie flat for half an hour while regular obs were done, and after that I was given something to eat and a coffee before the paperwork was completed and I was allowed to leave.
I had an hour back at my room to update my beautiful wife and Mum about how things had gone, then decided to walk into town for a bit of gentle exercise and to get something to eat. I also got the chance to snap a distinctly average pic for blip.
After a massive Thai meal, I headed back to my room.
Pain levels seem a great deal less and I am walking without limping at the moment. I can't remember if the doctor said he was injecting local anaesthetic with the anti-inflammatory or not, so I am not getting too excited yet.
I am looking forward to being home tomorrow.
