Holy Pub. Batman!

One of the sadder sights in Ayr. The old West Kirk is now a thriving Wetherspoons.

I remember finishing off a £1.2m restoration in St Augustine’s, Dumbarton and it was rather glorious. One day shortly after, I found a young woman wandering about the building with a sketchbook and pencil. It turned out that she was at university studying architecture. She told me that when the building closed it would make an excellent nightclub.

I’m still trying to get my head around that.
