Trelissick garden
A special treat today, we went to the NT garden Trelissick. Although autumn is well on the way now, there were some lovely flowering borders and bumblebee friendly plantings. The star of the garden for me was the stunning Japanese red cedar (Cryptomeria japonica).
This was planted in 1898, and over the decades the drooping branches have rooted and grown into a truly spectacular tree. Apparently these trees can grow for a thousand years! I can’t imagine how big that could be!
We took Wendy swimming after school and she was promoted to the next group as she can now swim quite independently. How important that is especially for a young surfer!
Fish and chips for tea, and we have just heard that Gill’s best friend from uni has had her second baby, a little boy, named Rupert!
