Three Shades of Wattle

Still in Canberra, I went back to the Botanic Gardens today for a cafe lunch with an old friend. On a blue-sky day, I couldn’t resist a walk in the Gardens. Wattles (Acacia species) are in full springtime bloom right now. Most have yellow flowers, some are a more subdued cream, and just one species is red.
