Having another look at the anchor windlass since the engineer still hasn't found time.  I've taken on the drum, removed the pressure plate, and am removing the clutch plate from the gypsy.  Removed the gypsy too, but the lower clutch plate appears to be fixed on in some way I haven't yet fathomed.  However, I got far enough into it to see that there are no obvious problems above deck.  The big question is are the problems below deck (in a really awkward to get to  part of the anchor locker) purely electrical, or is the motor seized.  Watch this space for more thrilling updates...
