Escallonia

I went into the back garden this afternoon to replenish the bird feeders and I was also on the lookout for a flower blip.  I found these few flowers on a bush that was cut right back earlier in the year when my brother and his friend came with a chain saw.  The friend said that even though there wasn't much left of the bush it would come back to life in time.  Well it certainly has.  There are lots of fresh leaves... and these few flowers. I think next year there will be a lot more flowers. Thanks to Bikerbear for hosting Flower Friday.

After doing a few chores I walked down to the village for food shopping. 

Then I had to sort out beds, tidy bedrooms and do some hoovering.  I also put on a load of washing.  

Becky,Mike and Astrid are visiting this weekend.  They arrived around 7pm... and they brought fish and chips.   After we had eaten Astrid played for a while before going to bed.  Then Becky, Mike and me had a nice catch up and we made our plans for the weekend.  Becky and Mike are running a ParkRun in Newcastle tomorrow ( Saturday ) and Becky is running the Great North Run on Sunday.  Astrid will stay at home with me.
