Thomas Coats Memorial Baptist Church
I was driving home late from a gig and noticed this impressive building was lit up. I know nothing more about it than the name? Addendum:- the Church is now an event space for weddings etc. The history is evident from the grand steps leading up to the main entrance, to the flying buttresses along the nave, to the magnificent crown steeple, this attention to detail was by architect Hippolyte Blanc. It was built as a memorial to Thomas Coats, a member of the highly regarded Paisley thread family, and was opened in 1894. The church is of a cruciform design and, with a capacity to seat 1,000 people, is almost cathedral like in its proportions. Further fine detailing can be seen inside of various mosaics, stencilled decoration, carved marble and alabaster.
