Blue

It was my first chance to get down to the woods for a week or so; it’s always good to see how the natural world is moving on with its year.

There were a few butterflies about: Speckled Wood, Comma, Red Admiral, Green-veined White, Small White and this solitary Common Blue.

Flying objects of another kind briefly came into view when the Red Arrows flew directly over the clearing I was standing in. Too quick for a photo, they will have been on their way to the Ayr Festival of Flight.
