Above And Beyond...

Corner Plot

Late morning I drove to a garage in Ross on Wye (Herefordshire, UK) to get my International Driving Licence completed - how times have changed!

Before getting home I stopped at St Dubricius Church, Whitchurch, which is a mile walk from my house. I knew of the Gwillim Grave in the corner of the churchyard but thought I'd get a photograph of it.

Basically, Elizabeth Gwillim (born: 1762AD in Whitchurch (The Old Court) - her mother died giving birth) married John Graves Simcoe who became the first governor of Upper Canada and founder of Toronto!

Whilst looking at the grave I saw the inscription for Jasper Gwillim (see extra) who died in tragic circumstances nearby on June 24th 1743 AD trying to save his friend who was drowning. He's buried in the enclosure. Just so sad.

On a lighter note, we're off out for a meal with granddaughter Amelia and parents in a Vegan restaraunt in Cwmbran that's highly recommended by other family and also SilverImages I got a voucher for Mrs BB birthday in June and it's my birthday in a few days so I'm going to have the 'steak' !
