Sheep Fields
Every year, either over the last week of August or the first weekend of September, Living Waters Church has the church camp on the land belonging to the lead elders. Living Waters is made up of three congregations, Oudewater, Veenendaal and Alblasserwaard, but from tomorrow there's going to a fourth, in Bodegraven. I think the Farmhouse Church, Groningen, have also come, but I'm not sure about this.
Just like last year, I decided that Little Man and I wouldn't be camping along with most of the church (there are a few people I spoke to, today, who aren't camping either). For us, camping comes with too many complications, like needing all the gear, of which, I only have a tent. Then, adding a boisterous four year old to the mix, as a single parent, is a challenge I don't want to take on, especially as said four year old has just started school and is adjusting to the changes this week alone has brought. Maybe, in a few years, when he's older and I have my own car (and can get a camper), it'll be something to try.
Since we aren't camping, we're expected to be there some of the weekend. Today it was for about two hours, with an hour's bike ride on each side of the time there. Little Man had a lot of fun running about and playing on the bouncy castle that had been set up. I did have to police it quite a bit as there were older kids who were climbing on parts of the bouncy castle they shouldn't have. In the end, I'd had enough and left earlier than planned.
We got home and spent the afternoon relaxing. Little Man had his programs on Netflix and I watched the Formula One Qualifications for the Monza Grand Prix. It was an interesting qualification, but I won't write more on that. I'm planning on being home in time to watch tomorrow's race.
