On Reflection
This was taken at one of my favourite spots from which to take pictures on the path around Seventy Acres Lake. By this bend of the Old River Lea I've photographed great crested grebes doing their penguin dance, a kingfisher, nesting herons and a goose with a broken wing which unfortunately didn't survive.
Earlier this year contractors built a huge pontoon to get their heavy machines across the lake to the island where there is a pylon that they needed to work on. I wasn't happy but needs must. They were dismantling the pontoon last week, which pleased me. However, they told me that they'll be building it again in a few weeks as their work isn't finished. They said that the pontoon is hired and it's cheaper for them to remove and rebuild it rather than leaving it in situ.
It was so lovely and quiet there this morning. Nice to see the reflection of the pylon. The mallard in my main image, unbeknownst to me, climbed the bank. I turned and it was poking around the former works area at my feet. Extras.
