Tanglewood
A final outing with Wendy and Gilly today. We went to Cape Cornwall, a wonderful headland looking out to the Atlantic. There was a fine gusty breeze and we had to hold tight to Wendy!
On the way home we went into Tanglewood. This is a ten acre magical garden, with sculptures, fairies, tricks and special effects. It has a lovely wild feel to it, and is totally uncommercial, something quite rare these days. The owner and creator has little poems and ditties here and there, and I particularly liked ‘Whosoever plants a tree, winks at immortality’.
There was even a compost toilet, much to Wendy’s delight!
Wendy went rushing off to yet another birthday party, while I made us a roast dinner and apple crumble with fresh apples from the park.
We did manage a game of Quirkle before bed but all pretty tired!
