I'd never had a filling (cavity) before I moved to New York. First visit to a NY dentist, I had six. Nine years later, I had another one. The technology had moved on at an amazing pace, although your stomach still lurches when your dentist says, while drilling away, that the "cavity is quite a bit bigger than expected".
