The grant funding bodies who are paying for most of the £330k or so of work on Holy Trinity church in Dunoon are the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Scotland. Obviously, their raison d'être is to conserve our built heritage to a suitable standard. But a major currency in the project is letting the public know how their money is being spent. Hence the large, large signs at the bottom of our hill. Since a storm took out some trees, the church has been a little more visible, but mainly the public are being made aware that HLF and HS money is being well spent somewhere up amongst the trees!
