Bits and Bobs!

I ask you again...

... where does the time go?!

Into Bath today to buy a present for a friend's 50th birthday. It seems like only yesterday that we were at school together...

(She's older than me, as I like to constantly remind her!!)

This is Prince Bladud, a legendary king of the Britons, and the founder of Bath. As legend has it, after being cast out by his father, he found employment as a swineherd at Swainswick, about two miles from the later site of Bath. He noticed that his pigs enjoyed covering themselves in the local black mud, which they did to enjoy the heat, and to keep their skin free from disease. On trying the mud bath himself, Ballud found that he was cured of his leprosy, and upon becoming King, founded Bath so that others might also benefit as he had done.
