The gloves are off..

having spent a good few hours chopping back all the spent flowers from while I have been away. The front garden is now looking a bit more kempt !!

(for those of you with an interest in the etymology of words : kempt comes from the Old English word cemban - to comb (so now we know!))..

The rumble of distant harvesters all day.. and now a slight breeze to break up the thick dry air.. relief!
