Stone Pig

For those young fellow blippers who hadn't heard of Craven A cigarettes, these stone pigs will be as unfamiliar. In fact they were precursors to hot waterbottles and electric blankets but an innovation after the hot bricks and warming pans of yester years. This one was in our splendid B& B in Kincraig, but purely as a display item and certainly not to be used in heating our bed.Thank you Helen & Jim for a welcoming stay.
And so it's home to the castle today. We have our very own "Homecoming" on Saturday when 16 of our immediate family congregate from all parts of the British Isles and beyond to welcome Mrs David77 into the clan. You can't get staff these days, so I will have to be chief cook and bottle washer, while his Lordship is "Mine Host" and will dispense bonhomie and wine with the aim of getting as many people sozzled as possible while remaining sober himself - a tall order! We will have 8 mini people aged 7 years and under, which is a sure recipe for disaster, but hopefully our sensible 10 year old will instil some order into her cousins. We must hope for fine weather so that everyone can spill out onto the castle gardens and make merry there. Be warned that I intend to keep you posted and may even indulge in a rant - it runs in the family!
