An unwanted present

A gift from the cat, who proudly brought this young rat into the house early this morning and promptly released it. The as-yet-unidentified small mammal then ran under the sofa. This prompted a quick evacuation of the room by everyone (including the protesting cat) except myself, as designated mammal-catcher. I'm happy to say I fulfilled this role well, managing to lure the rat into a large jar baited with some Fruit 'n' Fibre and covered with a tea towel to give it the appearance of a safe refuge. The final stage was to relocate the rat somewhere far enough away to hopefully dissuade it from finding it's way home again.
