Four Trees and a Shadow

I haven't visited these trees for a few months. I hoped there may still be a crop of barley or wheat but the good weather this year had allowed the farmer to harvest and re-plant with a winter crop. I was somewhat reticent about walking along the footpath, which runs along the line of trees, because there was very little evidence of footfall and the farmer was out spraying the field. It was only as I looked back that I saw a trail of shoe prints.
