Cours Saleya

Day 1 of the late summer week in Nice :-)

Up early for the airport drive, arrived mid-afternoon, ate/drank/slept then out for a late dinner. This is Cours Saleya, the flower market by day and the restaurant quarter by night.

Very busy out ce soir as it's officially the last weekend of the French summer holidays, and Monday is 'La Rentrée', the start of the new school and work year... La Rentrée is a little bit more of a big deal in France than the British 'back to school' thing, almost more like New Year, when people make resolutions and such like. You see, as the French traditionally take the whole of August off, this feels more like the start of a fresh year than January does, if that makes sense...
